Drag is a radical act of self-expression 鈥� same goes for Deaf LGBTQIA+ individuals, whose language embodies visual expression. There鈥檚 records of Deaf drag queens in Australia from the 1950s 鈥� but representation 鈥榙immed鈥� in the last few decades, say the Deaf Drag Divas.

鈥淲e want to relight the flame, reuniting our community…鈥漅eclaiming Our Spotlight isn鈥檛 just entertainment; it鈥檚 about empowerment, celebration of the intersection of Deafness and queerness, and creating a more diverse queer culture.
