Well it’s that time of year again – the 2011 Staying Negative calenders are out now.
Staying Negative is a campaign that features the personal stories of approximately 60 men talking about their lives.
Every year, Staying Negative produces a wall calendar that features the sories of 12 men.
This year’s calendar is jam-packed full of dates for different events happening in the gay community throughout 2011, as well as the birthdays of various celebrities we hold dear.
This year’s participants are: Scott – possibly Kylie’s number 1 fan, Keegan – winner of Midsumma Mooning, Josh – Mr Australia & New Zealand Leather ‘10, Seth – an online author, Mal – Mr Australia & New Zealand Leather ’09, Peter – Mr Laird Leather ’08, Raymond – a graphic designer who loves bears, Neil – a positive man with a positive outlook, Rodney – a champion of equal rights in Tasmania, Andrew – a country boy who loved to travel, Ben – author of the comedic autobiography The Family Law, and finally international porn star Francois Sagat.
The calendars are available free at a number of locations across Melbourne.
You can collect yours from Hares & Hyenas, Prahran Market Clinic, Northside Clinic, Centre Clinic, the Positive Living Centre as well as the reception of the Peter Knight Centre (6 Claremont St South Yarra).
A special thank-you to those organisations who are helping distribute the calendars.
So now is a good opportunity to make an appointment to get a pre-Christmas STI screen and pick up your calendar at the same time.
If you find that you can’t get a calendar because they’ve run out, fear not. You can always come and pick up a calendar from Peel Street Pride Fair on December 12.
But you’d better come early because the calendars go as fast as they arrive and it would be a shame to miss out.
Staying Negative will have a stall at the Peel St Pride Fair where we will be distributing the remainder of the calendars.
We will also be distributing the Staying Negative bottle opener keyrings. So there will be lots of goodies to walk away with.
If you would you like to be Mr January, June or July for next year’s calendar, get in touch. Email [email protected].
Alternatively you can come and talk to me on December 12 at the Peel Street Pride Fair.
