Readers, I am shocked and appalled at the news just surfaced that a certain scene wannabe has been in trouble with the law for unsavoury relations with, shall we say, younger ‘men’.
As the push for marriage equality really revs up, it gives those
who seek to continue our oppression another bullet for their loaded guns.
Although it happened a few years ago it seems the news didn’t hit the big smoke until now and said entertainer has gone to ground since the scandal resurfaced.
On a brighter note Ms Anita Beer will soon be seen at the Goodhead Pub, formerly the Opium Den, on a Saturday night.
Ms Beer recently found herself in a spot of bother after her venue tried to do punters a good turn by shouting them a drink or 10. Of course, some loathesome dibber mentioned it elsewhere, bringing the generosity to an end and raising the ire of the licensing commission.
Don’t people have better things to do than rain on our parade?
Seriously, sometimes the scene is more akin to a schoolyard of bullies or a squabbly pack on teens. As Ms Candee is fond of saying, ‘grow up!’ Let’s all play nice huh, ladies?
You can also catch Ms Beer on ice at the Medibank skating rink on a Wednesday night – the Sonya Henje of the drag world indeed!
I’m hoping there are no Tonya Harding’s around, although Ms Beer would certainly know how to deal with them.
The gorgeous Party Pup — Southern Star Observer’s very handsome manager — celebrated his birthday in style at the GH, and what a night it was.
A veritable cavalcade of stars turned out to help the Pup blow out his candle. It was a drag marathon and even featured the one and only Barbra Streisand.
Don’t rain on my parade indeed! Happy Birthday Le Pup. Ooooh the hangover!
Remember, camp can mean a thousand things.
Until next time.
