Mardi Gras is coming to the Hunter Region, and the Hunter is going to Mardi Gras!

KRAVE on the Central Coast will also be back at the Mardi Gras parade this year. Their theme is ‘One Love’.
There are two Mardi Gras events in the lower Hunter. Connected is an exhibition featuring GLBTQ artists, at Arts Systems, 40 Annie St Wickham. The opening night is Wednesday, March 2 from 6pm. The exhibition runs until March 13.
Carrie’s Place, the Maitland Neighbourhood Service and ACON Hunter are having a stall in the Maitland Mall on Friday, March 4 from 10am. We will bring a little bit of Mardi Gras to Maitland, with safe-sex packs, resources, and fun stuff to give away. Stop by and say hi.
International Women’s Day is 100 this year. All GLBT women are invited to help celebrate 100 years of IWD at the Hunter Women’s Centre on Wednesday, March 8. Inspiring speakers, music, dance, art, food, and more. The event is for women only. For more info, call 4968 2511.
The Gateway Hotel is hosting a fundraising event for the World’s Greatest Shave, which raises money for the Leukaemia Foundation, on Friday, March 11. There will be the World’s Biggest Karaoke, head shaving, hair colouring, BBQ, and Miss Emma Loosenough will perform — bald!
