The National LGBTI Health Alliance is holding a public consultation on Tuesday, October 9, 10am-2pm at Noahs on the Beach Newcastle. The consultation will feed into the Federal Government LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Strategy. This presents an exciting opportunity to express your thoughts on LGBTI ageing and aged care. The annual Rainbow Festival is nearly here. This year’s festival is going to be fun, fun, fun! Make sure you come along to the Rainbow Picnic on Sunday, October 21 in Gregson Park, this is always a great day, with hundreds of LGBT community members, families and friends.
Bring your pets, dressed in their best rainbow gear, limber up for the Tug of Love and Handbag toss, you can jump in bed with a sexpert at the ACON stall, smash some STIs with the As You Are youth group, hear some amazing performances, have a chat with your local GLLOs, get lots of great info and meet all your local LGBT groups. For the first time this year sport will be part of the festival, get along to Nobby’s beach on Saturday, October 27 for sun, sand, and fun sporty times. For more info go to:
Mr and Mrs Whitetrash will be hosting Twisted Trivia at the Gateway Hotel for this year’s Rainbow Festival, Thursday, October 25, from 7pm. This is a fundraiser for ACON Hunter. There will be lots of fantastic prizes, and a special prize for the best twisted outfit! $5 per head. You can book a table through the Gateway Hotel Ph: (02) 4969 1848.
Karumah Positive live-in retreat is happening November 23 – 25. Bookings are now being taken for this weekend away for people living with HIV and their carers living in the Hunter, New England and Central Coast areas.
