Forget your troubles, c’mon get happy
The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the dykes are on their bikes. It’s time to get off the couch and join us in the sunshine. We have already had the Pink Ribbon Ride which raises funds for breast cancer research. The next big event we are involved with is the Toy Ride on December 11.
Goodies are gathered and distributed to under privileged families around Sydney. Both of these rides are attended by hundreds of members of the motorcycling community. It really is an amazing feeling to be part of such a huge group.
If you prefer something a little quieter there is an ice-cream ride coming up on Wednesday, November 16. We will be meeting at the Hampshire Hotel at 7pm and grabbing a bite before heading off at about 8pm to a surprise ice-cream location.
This is around the inner city so it’s perfect for those of us who aren’t ready for the big rides yet. If you feel like continuing you can join me as Rusty Gates at the Sly Fox that night.
Another short ride will be held on Saturday, November 26 where we venture in to Darling Harbour to look at all the pretty bikes at the Motorcycle Show. Come along and watch us drool over what we dream about at night.
Of course Dykes on Bikes is a group of motorcycle loving women who love women but we also like to just get together and enjoy each other company. There are social events where we don’t even go near a
motorcycle.
One of these is the DOB Xmas Party. This year it will be held at the Hampshire Hotel, Parramatta Rd, Camperdown on Saturday, December 17.
We will be holding a general meeting first at 5pm for members but the festivities will begin at 7pm. Santa will be there and this year he is bringing Mrs Claus to keep the elves in line. This is a good time to come along and meet some of the girls outside of our motorcycling activities.
I hope to see you on a ride sometime or just for drink.
Until then,
Ride Safe & Sexy
