Queensland paramedic’s touching plea for marriage equality

A QUEENSLAND paramedic鈥檚 emotional plea for marriage equality has gone viral.
Michael Slicker, a paramedic with St John鈥檚 Ambulance Australia, opened up on Facebook about how marriage equality would affect his life, has reported.
鈥淟et me put this into perspective鈥︹�� he wrote.
鈥淵ou will let me into your house at any hour of the day.
鈥淵ou will throw your sick child into my arms and beg me to help.鈥�
His post continued describing the demands of his work and how he is there for people in the community.
鈥淪o who are you to say that I am less of a person and don鈥檛 deserve equal treatment in the eyes of the law because I love a man,鈥� Slicker wrote.
鈥淪o please vote yes. It will make zero impact on your life but will change mine forever!鈥�
This week, Slicker鈥檚 post has been shared more than 17,000 times and received almost 70,000 likes.
Voters have until August 24 to聽聽or update their details to ensure they can vote in the upcoming postal poll on marriage equality.

Of course he’s right that he’s trusted by the public. The contrast with the catholic church could not be greater, particularly in a week when the catholics have confirmed they’d rather go to jail than dob in paedophile priests.
But the catholics are the biggest reason Michael can’t marry his life partner.
Yep, that’s Australia in 2017.
