Katy Perry’s misfire

Katy Perry’s misfire

Katy Perry unveiled a new ballad version of her current hit “Firework” at yesterday’s American Music Awards in Los Angeles.

The performance has drawn criticism for her live vocal and use of a children’s choir but her fans – including pop star P!nk – have taken to Twitter and YouTube to defend her.

“Firework” has become a popular gay anthem since the “Teenage Dream” singer dedicated the song to bullied gay youth on Twitter and featured a gay kiss in the video.

Katy wrote “I am officially dedicating my new video to #itgetsbetter, because everyone has the spark to be a FIREWORK.”

One response to “Katy Perry’s misfire”

  1. Has anybody else realized that Katy Perry has done all of the same things that P!nk has, even though P!nk did them first? I guess if P!nk is alright with it, then… Although I am thinking that maybe P!nk is only defending Katy because her song is in support of the gay community and that is the only reason I am sure. I do not like people immitating me, and really I do not know who does.
