Rising English pop star Jessie J has confessed to MTV she unsuccessfully submitted songs for Britney’s new album Femme Fatale.

The 22 year-old diva, who currently has a top five smash in Australia with Price Tag, is taking Brit’s rejection in her stride.

“To even have the opportunity to write a song for [Britney Spears] is still incredible,” J told MTV.

“As a songwriter I’m still taking baby steps – You have to write 10 songs to get one good one and, realistically, I don’t have time to write 10.

“It was a good song though,” she assured the interviewer.

Jessie isn’t the only aspiring pop star to submit songs for Britney’s album – Neon Hitch, Sky Ferreira and Ke$ha all had a go.

And of those, only K Dollar was successful.

As for submitting the song to a different singer, there’s a small hitch.

“I may try and pitch it to someone else, but it was actually called ‘Being Britney’,” J said.

“So, it’s actually hard to pitch it. Unless it’s ‘Being Whitney’.”

Watch Jessie J’s current smash Price Tag below.
