“There are rules for being a woman. Thou shalt burn the rules.” Combining storytelling with the poetry of comedian, burlesque artist and poet and the music of classically trained violinist , The Femme Commandments is somewhere between “a poetry reading and an indie folk concert”, a celebration of living on your own terms, following no path other than the one that brings you closer to yourself. Defying the cis-tem, familial expectations and social ideas, Nikki and Kitty present a show that “voices resistance and offers hope and comfort.”
