Do not get too excited yet. We here in NSW still need a relationship registry, surrogacy reforms, adoption reforms and any other laws on the NSW statute book that are discriminatory must be fully abolished or amended. Once more Councils or Local Governments provide relationship registories, the more NSW government will take notice. The Local Government Act 1993 says “de facto partner” anyway.
