I’d love it if the kids were given ‘experiences’ on xmas day they remember as opposed to it being about receiving ‘stuff’. You contradict yourself in this article.

I think kids should be taught that christmas is about family time, reflecting on the year gone, and being grateful for what you have. Even if parents can’t afford presents on Xmas so what? My mother died when I was 5 from a long battle with drugs and we never had much in the way of money. I have no memory of if I received xmas presents, but I have memories of times spent with her, which is so much more important.
