Mr young,I note with interest that you work for my former employer ��ճԹ� Ltd.Maybe you would be interested in looking over my treatment in your workplace.My partner and my abusers still hold some of the highest editorial positions at ��ճԹ� Ltd.I like you have lived all my life with the hatred and disadvantage that comes with our sexuality.However our treatment in your organisation beats them all.I like you tried to live my life openly and with pride,I enjoyed my work and survived in the tough ��ճԹ� environment for over 30 years, until in a bureau appointment I encountered three months of pure terror.Homophobic posters were the entrée followed by daily abuse harassment in the street threats with firearms,car trashed it goes on and on.When I could no longer guarantee my partners safety I withdrew from the bureau posting,It was then I found the real institutionalised abuse that only ��ճԹ� Ltd was capable of.Please Mr young look carefully in your own work environment.

The moment has come for the silence about the unique and valuable contribution of Indigenous Australians to be rectified, and for discrimination to be removed from the Constitution. It has no place in our future. How can you argue with people discriminating against you for being gay, when the constitution of this democracy of ours discriminates against the original owners of this land…We should recognize aborigines in our constitution before recognizing same sex marriages..just saying…..

On a night out in Brisbane a few years ago in fortitude valley , i met this cute little Asian guy and we decided to walk to the Wickham hotel from Brunswick st via Wickham st (which like oxford st is a major thoroughfare out of Brisbane). As a sign of affection for this lad I had my arm around his shoulder as we walked there. A hotted up commodore full of young guys pulled up beside us slowing down for traffic in the middle lane, one of them from the back of the car yelled out “you make me sick you faggots” I saw red and without even thinking I ran out into the traffic as I saw there look of self-righteousness turn into something that looked more like horror and I repeated there line back to them “you make me f****ing sick you gutless c***s” and I spat at the guy who had yelled it out as they sped off, then I turned and calmly walked back to my mate, who had a look of astonishment over what had just happened ,I wasn’t proud over what I had just done but it was an involuntary reaction and the thought that they might think twice in future before thinking they can yell judgements out from the safety of their car before speeding off made me think it might have been worth it.

I hate that people think that other peoples sexuality is a matter of concern… Or even their business! I am more concerned with looking after my family and friends … Or how about the fact that our politicians use our tax dollars for personal enjoyment (NRL games, overseas trips, nights out etc) or even the fact that we’ve just cut international aid! That’s what we need to focus on, NOT what sex another person is attracted to!

I also hate that certain (ignorant) famous people have the opportunity to have their ridiculous opinions heard on a wide scale. Mundine, I’m especially talking to you here. While you preach of equality for races but not sexualities, you not only undermine your argument but look like a total fool as well. Equality is about ALL people being equal.

So rather than quote people who don’t matter, here’s a quote I suggest you use (from Dr Seuss) and Matty I hope it’s one you will hold in your heart and remember:

Those who mind don’t matter, and those matter don’t mind…
