In other words, its escapism at its best. Instead of finding it wishing oneself to overcome the fears of intimacy and insecurities intrinsic to the demographic this article makes excuses.

If you find ice fun, go for it and have a good, hopefully safe time. Just like drinking or anything that alters perception of reality. But i can’t help think that if someone needs a drug in order to connect with others then it’s indicative of issues that are being avoided by using substances.

I also take pretty massive issue with the outlandish statement-
“But so many of the choices we make as human beings are totally irrational and unexplainable.”
That’s complete fallacy.

“I’m always sceptical of theories that try to explain how addiction works. Do we look to neuroscience or society itself for answers? Are some of us more susceptible or are we all just a moment away from it?”

-Seriously? Go get a psychiatric text book. We know the different factors that cause “addiction”- addiction is just the blanket term for describing the resulting behaviour that doesn’t mean we haven’t identified and understand, hence defining- the different roads that lead there.
