I wish to raise an issue of concern, not with the allocation of presages, however MG have stated they are selling over 10,000 tickets to the main party,

The Hordern has a capacity of 5,500. Max Watts 800 and Watsons 400.
That’s 6,700 assuming the 1,200 want to go to the other indoor venues.

This leaves OVER 3,800 people OUTSIDE, just like 2020 all over again.
We will be a laughing stock of the world, considering every other world pride I have been to have ample capacity.

International Tourists who have paid thousands in airfares and hundreds in tickets to the Main party will be left outside in the cold to watch it on the LED TV screens (sorry they are stating its an immersive experience – my bad) they will be immersed in LED TV screens,

This is not only disgraceful but possibly fraudulent and I will be issuing a case to the ACCC in pre-emption of this.
Would be really great if the Star looked into this instead of just being a mouth piece for the MG Organisation.

It’s unfortunate that World Pride have forgotten (or just not given a shit about them) about the youth demographic for these events (and have done so for sometime). Many young LGBTQIA+ community members can’t afford to spend 200 dollars and up to these events. It feels as though the board and committees are made up of persons who are 30+ and out of touch with this group.
The reality is that with World Pride 2023 many will find the event a much too expensive event to participate in fully.
The offering of Cabanas and fast passes are pretty gluttonous creating an us and them between party goers (eg Cabanas are offered at 1k per head with a minimum of 10 people).
Tbh it all feels a little gross and out of touch for a NFP community event.
