I would never be friends with someone anti-gay. I wouldnt harrass them, send them death threats of any of that. I would just ignore them and let them continue to live their bigoted lives but I wouldnt waste any time talking to them

Like my Anglican Bishop said “We will look back on these days and say how could we of been so cruel to people, simply due to their sexuality”.

Why an earth do you need to write evil with a capital E anyway?

You can be as Evil as you like, but that will not stop people getting married.

Id also like to add that it all just comes across as Gays begging the politicians for forgiveness in many ways which then comes across as heterophobia. And Dave, I wish youd get to the point in your posts as they all come across as very similar. Thanks, Oliver, Proudly Catholic.

It’s hard to judge from your post whether or not you support marriage equality. If you do then a conscious vote is the last thing we want as it’s guaranteed to fail because at least 30% of ALP parliamentarians will vote with the Opposition.

Voting in the greens just so that they can peddle social policies is pretty irresponsible considering their absurd policies in pretty much every other aspect of politics.

It will happen. If we need to vote in a couple more Greens, that can be done as well. December should be fun in Canberra. Just tell me when and where.

Sounds like Nazi ideology to me, the master race stuff.

Whos to stop you or arrest you for living with a same sex partner? I personally beleive that marriage is a secure sanctity preferably between a male and a female. I have Gay friends that are sick of the hype of all the marriage talk and feel theres more important issues to life. I really dont want to live in a totally Gay dominant world which is becoming more evident day by day. I also dislike that people will just presume Im Gay just because I havent found the right lady yet. Thats discrimination for all the singles out there.

Let it go! The MP’s reported to Parliament that the majority do not want gay marriage. Let’s move on and not keep bowing down to these MINORITY groups pushing their agenda.
On the whole, I think it is safe to say that most Australian Voters have had it with this Government. Absolutely sick and tired and had it. I am so outraged when I see all the lies, back flips and wasted opportunities. I scratch my head (sometimes bury my face in my hands) and wonder what on earth is happening in this Country. It would take too long to list all the items that worry me at the moment, but I know that it is the same for most people.
My BIG question is… Why can’t we the Australian people (who have intelligence and vote) force an election to happen? I am not up on all the details of the Constitution or High Court laws, but can’t we get the Governor General to through these guys out? In a similar fashion to Gough Whitlam?
I am not a member of any political Party. I am just sick of watching this fiasco day after day…

Upon becoming Prime Minister she was immediately pushed to give forth her views on same-sex marriage, she obviously stated she was opposed. At the time I think she believed this was a politically acceptable position – she did not want to fight Tony Abbot or upset the right faction of her party on this issue. But in just a short period of time things have moved at blistering speed; community support for same-sex marriage has solidified and with it most of the Labor Party is sliding towards full endorsement of same-sex marriage. Julia, who feels she has an image problem for not seeming true to her beliefs, is in a precarious position and is stubbornly (and disingenuously) trying to defend her opposition to gay rights. I personally don’t think she is actually opposed to same-sex marriage, I mean it is ridiculous to think she would be? Politics is a cynical realm indeed.

In relation to the legalisation of marriage for same sex couples, I have no doubt it will be raised at the ALP National Conference and a motion to put it to parliament. In parliament the ALP will put it as a conscience vote, where undoubtedly 1/3 will vote against it. The LNP are a no from the outset. The bill WILL fail. This would give the ‘junkyard dog’ more amunition, which in turn has far worser implications for same sex attracted couples moving forward. Ain’t perspective a wonderful thing ?!
