The Greens complain about preferences, but they are being hypocritical – they preferenced James Purcell 3rd, above Labor and the Australian Sex Party!

It’s a hollow call to ask for ‘cross party collaboration’ when Sam Hibbins and the rest of the Greens did no lobbying and didn’t even get in touch with Purcell to try and change his vote.

The Greens complain about preferences, but they preferenced Vote 1 Local Jobs 3rd after the Animal Justice Party and Australian Cyclists. So the Greens put V1LJ above the The Australian Sex Party and Labor in the Western Victoria Region.

The real question is what did the Greens do to change James Purcell’s mind?

I lobbied him numerous times, worked with local LGBTIQ contacts in his electorate for them to lobby him and did everything politically to see those bills pass. The Greens didn’t even pick up the phone to speak with James Purcell.

The job doesn’t end at the ballot box. Effective parties negotiate with all parties to get outcomes. We might have had a different outcome if the Greens tried.

But the Greens preferenced James Purcell above the Sex Party and the ALP…. Seems like the Greens are spinning the story again.
