Solid start for rural health initiative
The Country Awareness Network (CAN) Victoria will launch a new STI awareness project during this week’s Spring Migration festival.
Funded by the Department of Human Services, the three-year Take Care Out Back There project will improve gay health in rural areas.
CAN executive officer Adam Wright said he was pleased to see an increase in support for addressing the health needs of rural Victorians.
A number of community events will form the basis of the project, including a free Victorian AIDS Council personal development workshop in Shepparton from September 11-13.
The program launch will involve an afternoon of “sexy trivia” hosted by gender illusionist Vanessa Wagner on Saturday, September 5.
