Leaders for youth
Family Planning Victoria is seeking applications for its 2010 Q&A leadership program for GLBTI people aged between 18 – 28 to become community mentors.
The government-funded program gives young GLBTI Victorians the chance to gain skills to help strengthen the community.
The program is for those who feel comfortable with their identity and may be seeking to further develop leadership skills through work with the GLBTI community.
The Q&A program is an opportunity to learn organisational and management skills while covering issues such as poverty, homophobia, homelessness and racism.
The program runs over four weekends from June 24 to October 23. Participants will be introduced to an established network of people working within the GLBTI community.
The program is targeted at people living and working in regional and rural Victoria, however, those in city areas wanting to take part are encouraged to get in contact.
