Gender and sexuality commissioner Ro Allen named Pinnacle ambassador
Ro Allen, Victoria鈥檚 Gender and Sexuality Commissioner, is the latest ambassador to join LGBTI youth charity The聽Pinnacle聽Foundation.
Allen is the state鈥檚 first Gender and Sexuality Commissioner, a role that sees her championing the rights of LGBTI Victorians within government.
She previously chaired the ministerial advisory committee on LGBTQI Health and Wellbeing and was the CEO of UnitingCare Cutting Edge, founding Victoria鈥檚 first rural support group for young LGBTI people.
As a聽Pinnacle聽ambassador, Allen said she looks forward to helping the charity fulfil its mission to 鈥榣ight the spark within鈥 and help LGBTI young adults realise their full potential.
鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 be more excited to join聽Pinnacle聽as an ambassador,鈥 Allen said.
鈥淚 strongly believe that education and mentorship is critical to helping young people make the most of life鈥檚 opportunities.
鈥淭he support that聽Pinnacle聽provides can be life changing for LGBTI youth and I鈥檓 really looking forward to helping聽Pinnacle聽share more success stories with a broad audience.鈥
Pinnacle聽CEO Janine Middleton said Allen鈥檚 appointment will bring even more energy and expertise to the organisation as it looks to increase the number of annual scholarships it provides around Australia.
鈥淧innacle聽is all about offering opportunity and community to young LGBTI Australians through education and mentoring, values that Ro has lived throughout her career,鈥 said Middleton.

The聽Pinnacle聽Foundation is a national charity that provides education scholarships and mentoring support to disadvantaged LGBTI young adults, and is run entirely from the donations of private and corporate donors.
Ro Allen joins other聽Pinnacle聽ambassadors including Olympic swimmer Daniel Kowalski, Australian cricketer Alex Blackwell, and former leader of the Australian Greens Bob Brown.
