Sleepless Beauty
Described as a cabaret for the chemical generation, the latest performance by Christa Hughes (pictured) promises to bring a nasty and hilarious edge to Bennelong Point. Sleepless Beauty opens in The Studio on 12 June, with Hughes (also of the band Machine Gun Fellatio) joined by performance artists Imogen Kelly (Gurlesque), Minx Contortionista (The Hellfire Club) and Ruby May Fox (Love TV). The show is about a woman drifting in and out of reality and fantasy as she struggles with a desire to be beautiful. Or something. In any case, lesbian readers should be assured that the cabaret show features no show tunes of any kind. The show runs at the Studio, Sydney Opera House, until 22 June at 9pm.
