First of all, Tone you dickhead, every big final musical act does their biggest hits whether they are political or not, that’s always the rule. Remember Midnight Oil at the 2000 Olympics? Do you really think they should have limited their set to “Surf’s Up Tonight” and then pissed off? You might have liked that but thousands of fans would have been furious. No one books A.B.Original then gets offended about Australia Day. And you are a fool, Tone, for trying to pretend otherwise.

Secondly, and more importantly, while NRL promotes itself as a game for everyone of all ages, it also knows that its future lies in its youngsters and young families. It’s why Macklemore is performing and not, say, The Seekers (although we know Tone would definitely prefer the latter, what a trendy chap he is). And CENSORING Macklemore because you don’t agree with his free speech will do nothing to enhance the reputation of the NRL with its young fans.
