Hear the howl at Bad Dog
Bad Dog is holding a special Nocturnal Emissions night on Sunday 30 September at the Marrickville Bowling Club.
Starting at 10pm, promoter and DJ Ben Drayton said the gathering was vastly different from the typical dance party.
“It’s like a neighbourhood party with a group of friends getting together and putting something on,” he said. “It’s a casual feeling with a giant sound system – the atmosphere is very mellow visually.”
With a space theme inspiring the night’s feel, it’s going to be one interesting party.
“People do dress up if they want to. There’ll be lots of aluminium foil at this event, I think. But the theme will be reflected more in the music,” Drayton said.
“The music will be deep and spacious. That covers a lot of ground from deep house and soul with funk and oddball underground disco stuff.”
The night will be a mixture of gay, lesbian and straight.
“We put music up and present it the way we are. There are no Madonna records and it’s not a commercial gay event – it’s a people-friendly event,” Drayton said.
Tickets start from $40 plus booking fee and can be bought from Spank, SO Music and Barberia. Details: www.baddog.net.au.
