Gay soccer fans told ‘keep it in your pants’
Outcry has followed comments by FIFA president Sepp Blatter this week that gay people should “refrain from any sexual activity” during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Blatter made the joking remark during a press conference in South Africa in response to a question from a journalist asking what gay soccer fans should do when visiting the Arab nation for the World Cup.
A chorus of laughter erupted at the press conference when the question was asked.
Qatar considers homosexual behaviour criminal and imposes jail sentences of up to five years as well as floggings.
Out former NBA basketball star John Amaechi slammed the FIFA president’s response as childish and called for Blatter to apologise.
“It’s not about people having sex in public and being sanctioned for it, it’s the fact that Qatar was one of 79 countries to sanction executing gays at the United Nations,” he told the BBC.
“You have to understand that this story is big enough, his influence is big enough, to impact young people in school, people in workplaces.”
“Anybody who is perceived to be gay or is gay, hears these comments and once again realises that the seat of power, straight white men normally, are very, very clearly uncomfortable with this issue and certainly not interested in taking it seriously.”
There should be a LOT of straight unmarried men/play around men who want to BE VERY careful what they do TOO!
It will be interesting to see who the morality police charge.
There is a simpler way to get around this ban of gay sex in Qatar.
Just don’t play soccervfor the nextv12 years.
Tell your friends to do the same.
