A daddy who loves his funnybone
Bill Bailey -“ best known for stand-up tours and his work on ABC TV’s cult comedy Black Books -“ is bringing his critically acclaimed Tinselworm show to Australia for his sixth Australian tour.
Unlike one-trick ponies who have come out of the UK, Bailey’s talents are surprisingly diverse. The entertainer has acted on stage, appeared in films and played with the BBC Concert Orchestra.
His show uses two synthesisers, guitars, an alpine horn, a massive gong and a blinding video screen. He employs this instrumental arsenal to spice the mix of his meandering thoughts and to simultaneously integrate his performance with a pop culture pulse. He recently appeared in the SBS drama Skins as the father of gay boy Maxie.
While appearing all over the international comedy scene, Bill has kept up his television profile. His role as team captain on Never Mind the Buzzcocks has brought his surreal comedy styling to millions of viewers, and injected a new lease of life into the long-running pop quiz.
Bailey’s array of comedic, acting and stand-up talents lend to the fusion of music and comedy that has spellbound audiences across the globe, and Tinselworm is a prime example.
