Labor had SIX years in power and did…N O T H I N G! Labor still allows it’s MPs to vote against gay equality, homophobes.

Abbott came up with the idea of the plebiscite to indefinitely stall marriage equality in Australia. His right wing colleagues in the Coalition have already declared that they would not abide by a YES result and in fact, given that in their conservative electorates, the NO vote would predominate, they can be quite justified in opposing any overall majority YES vote. The massive hate campaign enveloping the plebiscite will unleash unprecedented violence against gay and lesbian Australians and to which I say, is the right to marry more important than the right to safety? We must continue to oppose the plebiscite while pushing for a free vote in Parliament. Only Parliament, after all, can make marriage equality real for all Australians.
