These conservatives promoting discrimination don’t realise how tawdry they are making the concept of “religious freedom”. It turns out the only two “religious freedom” arguments being prosecuted in Australia today are for retailers in the wedding industry to say no to the gays, and for Catholic priests to confess their paedophilia to other priests without being dobbed in to the cops.

That’s religious freedom. It’s gay-bashing and paedophile-protecting. I repeat myself because it’s so incredible to me that Australia’s religious communities are so incredibly scary right now, but THAT. IS. WHAT. RELIGIOUS. FREEDOM. MEANS. Bash the gays, love the paedos.

Time to tax those churches. They’re doing nothing to help society.

We need marriage equality before Christmas with no legally sanctioned discrimination, for anyone, at all, ever.

As a 70 year old dying of terminal liver cancer with a partner immobilised by osteo-arthritis, I need to help him get settled before my death. Now I have no say with Centrelink or NDIS because I am not married.

We have been out but not always proud since our early twenties when homosexuality was still illegal.

We had the same hate speech recycled by the unconditionally loving Christians twenty years later.

With luck we will finally close these shit eaters down and celebrate being recognised as having the same rights as every other Australian citizen
