Madonna has hit back at critics for their comments on her appearance following her Grammy appearance, calling them ageist and misogynistic.聽
In an the singer called out critics for commenting on her physical appearance, stating that she had been 鈥渃aught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in鈥�.聽
During her Grammy appearance, in which she introduced both Kim Petras and Sam Smith for their performance of 鈥淯nholy鈥�, a close-up photo of her face had become viral.聽
The viral photograph led to a host of negative comments on her appearance, with users writing about how she had looked unrecognisable on her Instagram page. Other comments involved public speculation on further possibilities of her undergoing plastic surgery.聽

Madonna called the Grammys an 鈥渉onour鈥�, where she was able to introduce Petras, as the world鈥檚 first out transgender woman to perform at the event, and non-binary singer Smith to the stage.聽
