This is just another example of politicians obfuscation, a means to delay actually doing anything and Andrews, like all of them, is simply playing politics, trying to protect himself and the ALP from some possible backlash by the fundamentalist, fanatical, self-styled “Christians”. Remember we have one of those who is, currently, the Prime Minister of our country!

Andrews is probably being threatened with cuts to federal funding if he introduces legislation banning GCT.

During the May 2018 federal by-election in SA the then Liberal Prime Minister told the voters in that state that his promised funding for one electorate would only be made available: “On condition the voters voted for the Liberal candidate.” They ignored him and dumped his candidate – a candidate which Liberal Party members in Victoria, not us voters, had dumped prior to the 2016 Federal Election!

If our politicians can indulge in political blackmail in one state they can, and will, do it in all states and territories.
