GALFA grants open
The Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia (GALFA) is calling for expressions of interest for grants of up to $2500 for projects and organisations which help improve the wellbeing of LGBT communities.
GALFA is a national charity which helps fund and resource other charities that help marginalised LGBTI people. Earlier this year it gave $10,000 to PFLAG.
GALFA is looking to fund programs and activities which help reduce discrimination, support older LGBTIs, and might involve education, research, awareness-raising or community events.
Submissions will be accepted by email only and should be submitted by 5pm, Friday, October 28.
Organisations with deductible gift recipient status are eligible to apply. Visit www.galfa.org for more information.
GALFA says that there is an acute need for its services as a Philanthropy Australia report found only 2 percent of all money given to charity went to gay and lesbian projects.
