AIDS council head resigns
AIDS Council of South Australia (ACSA) executive director Shane Dinnison has stepped down.
ACSA chairperson Erik Michielsen said Dinnison’s resignation was due to differences of opinion over “management style” and the council’s future vision.
Last year, Dinnison came under scrutiny for allowing a gay sex club to be run out of his Cumberland Park home in Adelaide’s suburbs, but he denied any involvement other than permitting his home to be used.
The Palms sex club, run by Dinnison’s partner John Bywaters, operated out of the home they shared and did not require the use of condoms.
An internal ACSA inquiry cleared him of any wrongdoing, but the council was forced to commission a second inquiry headed by an external third party after South Australian Health Minister John Hill criticised the initial investigation as unsatisfactory.
