Thanks for helping to destroy what community we have left.

My own personal experience with Grindr is a little different to the previous posts, I would describe it as more a love/hate relationship. I experienced all those negative things the previous posters described. I also got 2 good friends and a bf out of it. We’ve been together for 3 years now. As someone who does not live near the city I can tell you that dating apps are invaluable to meeting potential dates and friends. There simply isn’t anywhere to meet potential dates when you live in a bogan town. Yes it is crass and gross at times, ok most of the time, but Grindr was a successful venture for me.

Love the response! Accurate, amusing and creative.

Dirty bung hole really did provide some chuckles at the office.

Rather than healthier better looking you get rude, intrusive, steroid pumped, small balled, bad attitude, wanna-be- Ken dolls with the personality of turnips that can’t pass by a mirror with out recreating the Greek Narcosis story.. And falling in love with their own reflections!! That have the the linguistic skills of a Neanderthal…

Id rather meet a real person in a real place that can talk and converse that Doesn’t ask to see dick/naked or pics 2 seconds after meeting you.. Like WTF??
No real person wants to see your cock out, butt spread with your dirty bung hole showing two seconds after they meet you–
–Unlike A plastic Ken doll who wants to try before he buys..

What happened to romance?? Having a crush on someone and taking things from there??
Try picking up a real person at a real place!!
Get out there and meet real people and make friends along the way !!!

It’s no wonder so many of the pubs and clubs are closing shop. Why go out when you can Grunt through a app have anonymous hookups and never meet again. Why do you never meet up with a app pick up again??
It’s because your as boring as a turnip!

Get a real life and you might find real people in it!!

There’s more to life than nameless faces with buff bodies with the attention span of a sea-slug!

-Sorry if I offended and Kens’ out there.. There are a few real people called Ken still out there!

And the guys on these apps are on many more, usually partnered, and after just sex outside their boring relationship,as they are bored with what they have.
As a single man I have become frustrated with mind set of most of Gay Men in a Sydney,it doesn’t matter if your young, old, good looking or average, but most important you have a kind soul,no one in Sydney wants a relationship.
So happy I ditched these apps, their soul consuming, and they purely amount to quicker std infection.
Glad I’ve moved on from them in good health, this is a true story.
Thanks

Grindr has done nothing more other than spread sexual disease through a unstable and boring platform. At what point does the app actively promote healthy sex? I have only seen this a couple of times through a couple of “Hey… Check this out to make us look good” broadcasts.

Now with the age of the ‘selfie’ of course people are going to feel better looking; however, only through the sheer frustration of taking that picture from which they feel like they have achieved personal gratification from the 20 other images that did not quite make the cut. You know, the latest evolution of profile pictures from social networking… The gratification and satisfaction of a good profile picture has never changed. It is now a shallowness with Grindr from which users hide behind a false pretence to bag the user(s) in particular, as quickly as they can; then move on after.

For instance; the picture choice of the Ken doll in the article is more than perfect to illustrate. Ken is plastic, false and shallow. He is lying to Barbie about his sexuality, much like he will probably lie to other users about his sexual health status to ensure he gets what he wants.

What Joe has not mentioned is that with this surf everywhere you go created with Grindr, it may be the point that you can chat in a bar; however, you are only chatting through your app and telephone. The point made in the question asked to him is more about the social side. Most users on Grindr are looking for one thing, sex. Now in bars; all you find are people online cruising for their next escapade and not actually socialising.

Test; Download Grindr with a group of a friends (if not already done so)and conduct the Rowntrees Fruit Pastille Experiment. You know, the one from which you can’t eat a fruit pastille withouth chewing. Instead, try a social occasion in the bar. Go the whole evening without logging into Grindr, I bet you can’t.

Surely, with the above in mind, the title should be; Grindr Makes Us Open Targets For STI’s And Shallow.
