There was no controversy over that or over any straight person playing gay. There are though some very sour individuals resentful at the fact that the big battles in the West have long since been fought and won and so have to concoct outrage where none should exist.
Most LGBT people—indeed most—truly don’t care about most of what these perpetually offended are screeching about, but we do care that they make us all look bad, tarnishing our image with their vile extremism.
The better sorry here would have been that there’s going to be a biopic about Boy George, not that he’s takes a level-headed grown-up approach to who should play him.
